Boondocker boots first appeared in 1938. Their official designation was U.S. Navy Field Shoes N-1, which is why they are also commonly referred to as N-1 Navy Boots.

As for the name "Boondocker", it originally comes from the Filipino language, meaning "the wilderness" or "the backcountry." Traditional Boondocker boots were designed to accommodate the foot shapes of soldiers from various backgrounds, so the toe box was not reinforced with a structured toe cap. As a result, the leather upper tended to develop creasing more easily, which could affect the boot's long-term durability and lifespan. To address this issue, We adopt one of the most trusted materials in the toe reinforcement field — German RHENOFLEX toe puff reinforcement, providing improved structure and better long-term shape retention. And, giving this model a fuller toe look instead of flat toe shape.
