The 34501 model adopts an authentic Goodyear construction with extra thick leather welt and authentic leather midsole.

2. Genuine materials throughoutv-
full leather lined vamp, leather midsole, and stacked leather heel. For comparison, some Red Wing models attach the welt directly to the outsole without a midsole structure, and may use plastic heels or midsoles and fabric vamp lining. I personally experienced a cracked plastic heel on my RW 2268 engineer boots.

3. Flexible customization -
from more affordable domestic and Korean leathers to premium European and American heritage tannery leathers available at an additional cost, along with a wide selection of Vibram outsole options.
